Three more days to SCMS!

Today is the first day participants can collect their race pack for the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2011. And boy oh boy oh boy, at 10am, there were already a lot of people and the queues just got longer and longer. It definitely proved that Kiasu-ism is very much alive in this island!

Well, to be fair, the queues were long but we were moving forward all the while. Hence, the waiting time was not that long, still acceptable.

Tiger Balm has a booth here as well! Runners who need a muscle rub or two can conveniently pick the Tiger Balm ACTIVE range of products from the booth. And if you spend $30 or more, you get a cute Tiger pencil case!

If you intend to sign up for the Sundown Marathon 2012, you should consider signing up at the Sports Expo as you might receive an additional singlet from this year’s edition. (While stocks last!)

Some time back, I wanted to become a Pacer for Team BMW. But somehow or rather, I didn’t managed to do so. Surprisingly, Team BMW prepared special gifts for runners who registered with them. And it came in a white box with Team BMW tee, a running belt, a cap and a wrist band! 

Now I am ready for the marathon, can’t wait for Sunday morning to be here! ^^V

See your running route!

The nice Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) organisers have put up video of the routes that runners will be running this year. It is necessary to know your routes well so that you can plan things ahead. You know, things like eating a packet of PowerBar gel or banana.

If not, you still have one more day to do so before it closes tomorrow!

If you already did, there is an option for you to collect your RACE PACK on 1st Dec (Thursday) before everybody else. That is, if you register your interest to collect on this date, together with 19,999 other runners, you might also stand a chance to win a iPad 2.

Registration to collect your RACE PACK (on 1st Dec) starts on 6th October 2011. First come first served, if you are slow, you can come back again from 2nd to 3rd Dec!

Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore

The annual marathon is back!

Although at first look, the name is the similar, it is not!! It used to be called the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon. But Singapore Sports Council (SSC) decided to do it without the Singapore Athletic Association (SAA); hence, they renamed it by changing the order of the 2 words.

Nonetheless, I will still sign up this year and challenge myself to run 42.195km.
