Note 3 + Gear, the Perfect Match

993404_10152276057993146_1271508257_n
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was launched yesterday in Singapore and the Galaxy Gear will be here in early October. The latest phablet device by Samsung is faster, bigger (screen) yet slimmer than Note/Note 2.

Note/Note 2 users should not try to play with the Note 3 as one could really feel the improvements in Note 3 and the urge to get one will increase tremendously. This is especially so if you use the S Pen and S Note a lot – it is easier to write and save notes now with the improved S Pen and the new Air Command (shortcuts to everything you need with the S Pen).

The Galaxy Gear, a smartwatch, is compatible with Note 3. One can answer or make calls with the Gear even if the phone is a distance away. With the Memographer, one can take pictures instantly without digging out the phone. It is pretty easy to navigate the Gear by swiping and I think that’s the whole idea – to make it simple and fit only the essential apps into it.

Time to say hello to Note 3 and maybe the Gear too. Smile

Happy Birthdays to Kaikai and Jiajia!

On 6th September 2012, Kaikai and Jiajia arrived in Singapore, all the way from their home in China.

On 6th September 2013, Kaikai and Jiajia celebrated their first anniversary here in Singapore and their birthdays! Yes, the pandas are September babies!

My job for today was easy – we just need to present the cake for Kaikai. Look at the cake, isn’t it yummilicious?

IMG_20130906_121319

Kaikai rushed for the cake after we left its enclosure and boy oh boy, it was really happy to see the cake! He ate the carrots (that spelt out the letter K) and then went for the bamboo!!

On the other side, we prepared a chime made of bamboos for Jiajia. She wandered around her enclosure for a while before munching on the bamboo.

And then, it was our turns to dig in! For a Pandas Party, there must be Pandas Munchies!!!!

20130906_11133820130906_11134820130906_11145720130906_111356

Here’s a short clip on what happened during the party, enjoy!

Look Good Feel Good with Dockers’ new Alpha Skinny

20130906_161500

After attending the Pandas Party, I headed to the Dockers at Bugis+ to try out the brand new Alpha Skinny! There are 4 cool colours for this casual pants range and I love them all!

20130906_16152720130906_16153420130906_16154120130906_161550

I immediately tried out one pair and was certainly impressed with the quality and cuttings of the pants – it fits perfectly on me and I think I looked better with it! If only I can get all 4 colours… maybe I will…

Just look at how I could ‘fly’ up without any problem and I guess that is the slight stretch material at work.
The sales assistants were really helpful, so do visit Dockers stores to find out more about Dockers® casual pants range. You won’t be disappointed.

I am a Panda Party Planner!

IMG_20130821_105518

I was lucky to be selected by CapitaLand to be one of the Panda Party Planners and I got really close to Kai Kai! (Thank you CapitaLand! ^^v)

IMG_20130831_130139IMG_20130901_200719

So usually, I will be out there, trying to find a good spot to take pictures of Kai Kai. But last Saturday, I was with Team Kai Kai!

IMG_20130901_201330

And this was how close I got to Kai Kai and boy, Kai Kai was surprised to see me too! The red pandas are cute too and please do take lots of pictures of them as well.

And the Panda red bean bun was yummy too! I heard from the boss (of River Safari) that there will be new flavours coming soon! (Get it from the Mama Panda Cafe.)

IMG_20130901_202737IMG_20130902_192658

So what is this Panda Party Planner thing about?

Well, we will be celebrating the pandas’ first anniversary here in Singapore and their birthdays! Yes, both pandas have their birthdays in September.

River Safari has lined up various activities such as Panda Art and came up with munchies such as the Panda Birthday cake and Panda cookies to get everyone involve.

So do visit the River Safari from 7-15 September 2013 if you want to join in the fun!

i-Love to RUN!

20121215_170928_1

Woo hoo… Presenting… Team ORSUM!!!!!

We participated in a race, i-Love to RUN, that was hugely inspired by the popular Korean variety show, Running Man! It was put together by i-Weekly and everyone had a lot of fun running, playing and hiding!!

We had to complete many tasks and then eventually solve the final code to win the race. While searching for clues to the final code, we had to hide from the ‘hunters’ who were roaming the whole shopping mall. Not easy at all.

My favourite task would have to be the ‘The Longest Breathe’!

563859_433373446717268_124471859_n528265_433373386717274_415118569_n

I had to shout ‘i ~~~~~~~’ and hold it there while the rest ran one round picking up i-Weekly magazines. Amazingly, I managed to last until they completed the round and we completed the task with one attempt!

Even though we didn’t win, we had a lot of fun and we got to mingle with athletes from Team Singapore! I am already looking forward to next year’s edition of i-Love to RUN!!!

I WAS THERE

Source: Samsung Mobile Singapore Facebook Page

I was lucky enough to be selected for the inaugural edition of the ‘I WAS THERE’ by Samsung Mobile Singapore. I spent an evening at the BistroBar by Da Paolo, enjoyed the food and played with the latest offering by Samsung Mobile Singapore, ie the Samsung Galaxy Camera!

2012-12-12 08.58.54

The Samsung Galaxy Camera has a 4.8” touch screen and it operates on the Android Jellybean 4.1.1. Yes, you hear right, it operates on the latest version of the Android OS. It is even possible to connect via 3G or Wifi and then upload the photos straight away to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!

And the camera comes with many special modes and my favourite one got to be the ‘BEST FACE’. When this mode is selected, the camera takes 5 photos and then you can select the best picture of each person and then merge them into one photo. That simply means that, we don’t have to worry about unglam photos where people closed their eyes at that click of the camera.

2012-12-12 09.02.152012-12-12 09.01.08

I am actually thinking of getting this camera for my trip to Japan, Cambodia and Thailand. The special modes seem to satisfy my requirements and take the kind of photos that I like. Oh and the 21x optical zoom is pretty amazing and I can take clear photos from a distance away. Cool, huh.

SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon Race Pack Collection

DSCN5280

On the same day, I also collected my race pack for the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon. Maybe it was still morning and the fact that it was the last day of collection, the whole process was very smooth. It could also be due to the fact that there were many volunteers around. Thank you to all these volunteers for making the collection a pleasant one.

DSCN5283

There are more goodies in this goodies bag!! I think for NSmen/NSF, we got an additional 2XU singlet too! Hurray!!!

Yellow Ribbon Prison Run ‘12 Race Pack Collection

DSCN5281

I collected my race pack in the morning and maybe that was why there wasn’t many people. The whole collection only took like 2 minutes and I was out of there.

Here are the goodies inside the goodies bag! I love the inflatable water bottle the most and I am going to use it tomorrow!

SNG Opening

DSCN5246 DSCN5251

DSCN5243

The Singapore National Games Opening was held at the Punggol Waterway Park today. Participants and supporters from the various clusters gathered here as we waited for Prime Minister Lee to officiate the opening.

We didn’t get to play the Frisbee but we all had a great time, enjoying ourselves with the balloons, bubbles and cheers. Some how I think the closing will be quite fun too, maybe we will attend the closing too.

292314_10151358008693146_950408656_n

We totally enjoyed this year’s edition of the NDP and the fireworks were great!!! And, I was so happy to see Mr LKY at the parade and proved that rumours were just rumours.

HAPPY 47th NATIONAL DAY!

424194_10151979271880142_1701996807_n

WOoooooooo HoooOOOoooo!!! It is Singapore’s birthday!!!!!!

On this day, 9th August, 47 years ago, Singapore declared independence. No longer do we have someone to take care of us but we, the citizens of Singapore, are now in charge.

A small island with no natural resources and lots of issues to solve, many things seemed impossible. Our forefathers worked hard and took risks, everyone was motivated to contribute to the country.

From a fishing village to become a cosmopolitan city today, Singapore has achieved a lot. And I do hope to see Singapore become even better and greater for many years to come.

I can’t wait to attend the National Day Parade at the Floating Platform in a few hours time. ^^

SAFRA SBR & AHM is confirmed!

AHM2012

Well, it was rumoured that the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon 2012 will not take place. The rumour turned out to be fake, the running event is going to happen on 9th September 2012!!

SAFRA members get to sign up from 18th May onwards and during the Priority Period, it will only cost $28!!!!

Isn’t that great? I mean, nowadays, running events are getting very expensive, very very expen$ive!!!! I think $28 is consider reasonable!

Qualifiers, here I come!

Alrighty, I got the invitation to the qualifiers for Sasuke Singapore!! Got to train hard for this!

Good package for runners!

capture-20120510-064317-crop

Alrighty, saw this post on Runbikeswim Expo’s Facebook page and I feel that it is a good offer not to be missed. Personally, I think I will be getting the non-NTUC member package (since I am not one).

3 runs + the goodies for $199 seems pretty worth it. Anyway, the runs left on the calendar are:

  • Mizuno PAssion Wave Run (Use of credit ends 15 Aug 2012)
  • adidas King of the Road
  • Yellow Ribbon Prison Run
  • New Balance Real Run
  • Newton Run
  • Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore

I think I will go for adidas King of the Road, Newton Run and Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore.

If you have always wanted to be a Ninja Warrior like myself, now there’s a chance to do so. Channel 5 has this new programme, Sasuke Singapore, which is basically like Ninja Warrior but Singapore-styled.

Challenge yourself and take the first step to fill in the registration forms. Wooo… 10 pages to fill in!!! That is going to be a huge step. Once you have done so, just wait for them to get back to you.

I am still waiting!

Singapore National Games

SNG

Brought to us by the Singapore Sports Council and People’s Association, the Singapore National Games 2012 is the inaugural sports festival to bring everybody together.

There are dragonboating, track & field and swimming events. There is also basketball and soccer. No matter what sports you are good at or you simply want to try a new sport, this sports festival is something to look out for.

Starting from 1st Sept to 9th Sept, residents from the same community can form teams to participate and most importantly, have fun!

We are Marshall-ers!

389185_10151049865583146_544803145_13941118_1810401039_n

This was not the first time I did high elements, not the first time I kayak round Ubin, not the first time I trekked in the forest, not the first time I've been to OBS. But this was the first time I completed many challenges with 12 other MARSHALL-ers!!!

That's what made this OE journey special and worthwhile. Thank you MARSHALL-ers for the experience!

21 days of adventure sound exciting to me and I think I should get down to register myself for it before the adrenaline from last week’s OBS camp wears off.

Oz Jetboater

DSCN2024DSCN2023

It was a great day to go on a cruise. How that is a Jetboater and you really need to have lots of guts to go for it. Lots of sharp turns and lots of water. Yes, you will get wet in that but lots of fun too!

DSCN2022

I decided I didn’t want to get wet and chose the Jet Cruiser instead.

DSCN2025

Well, I guess the pictures paint more than a thousand words. You get to see more of everything and from different angles too.
