Outing with the Wheelchair bound Seniors!

I have been doing this for a while. It is really meaningful to see that the seniors enjoying themselves. Being wheelchair bound, many seniors in Tampines don't get to travel beyond the neighbourhood.

For the outing this time, we will be heading to the Resorts World Sentosa via the Sentosa Boardwalk. Then we will stop at the Sentosa Merlion for a tea break and some games.

Click here to get more information and/or to RSVP!

It may not mean anything to us but it means a lot to them.

SAFRA Swim for HOPE!

For every lap we swim, SAFRA will be donating $1 to the beneficiaries they adopted.

The more we swim, the more $$$ SAFRA will be donating. YEAH!!!!

It is happening on 12 October at the five SAFRA Clubhouses - Tampines, Yishun, Jurong Point, Toa Payoh and Mount Faber.

I like to ‘jio’ my friends who are staying in the area to play a game or two. And, this is one of the few places in Singapore where you can play tennis and enjoy watching air planes flying in and out of Singapore. Sometimes I feel like I am playing tennis at the airport.

The rates for booking the courts are affordable and it can be done via the SAFRA portal. For more info, you may want to c l i c k h e r e!

Waves of Hope

I was at the Tampines Swimming Complex this morning for the Waves of Hope – an event by children, for children. It was put together by the Tampines Changkat YEC and the NUS Rotaract Club and organisations such as the Children’s Cancer Foundation and Children’s Society will benefit from the fund raised.

I think it was a very meaningful event and the children enjoyed it a lot. You can still chip in (even though the event is over now) by donating or buying a swim-let from the club. More info here: http://www.rotaractnus.org/wavesofhope.html

Presenting…

Tampines Changkat YEC!

Not everybody was able to make it for the workplan but 9 of us made good use of the time we had.

We looked back and planned forward, hopefully 2012 will be a superb year for everyone!

The Best In-Flight Entertainment System!

The best In-flight entertainment system is…. the SKY!!!

The ever changing ‘SKY SHOW’ is never boring - unless the plane is flying through a thick layer of cloud.

On 14th Dec 2011, the good people from Tampines Changkat Youth Executive Committee (YEC) took Tiger Airways to Bangkok for our workplan. There were rounds of discussion on ways to make things better for our community. And looking back, we also aim to carry out our successful events better and more impactful in the new year.

Staying in Tampines after N years, I realised…

ca

Changi Airport’s air traffic control tower is so near to where I’m staying.

And the CBD’s skyline is visible too!

Well, I stay on the 4th storey and hence, I can’t really see far from where I am. I am just glad that I went up to Block 211 and see this for myself. Now I know where to go if there are fireworks display at Marina Bay! ^^
