X Physique 2012, what a race!

Our reporting time was 6am. Yes, 6am!!!!! To report at this timing means that we had no choice but to take a cab and it cost $31!!! I wouldn’t mind starting later so that we can take our time to get to ARC.

Anyway, flag off was at 6.55am and we were off to solve clues and to complete the tasks at the various checkpoints. For the race, we ran, walked, cycled and kayaked the south western part of Singapore. From the Alexandra Retail Centre (ARC), we ventured to places like Bukit Purmei Hillock Park, Gan Eng Seng Secondary School, Normanton East, NTU Alumni Club @ One North, Ulu Pandan CC, Pandan Reservoir, somewhere at West Coast Road, Clementi Woods Park, NACLI and then back to ARC.

Over all, the race was pretty fun. There was no bottleneck and the tasks were quite challenging. We are Team Like a Boss and we finished off the race just like a boss!

DSCN3576And a big congratulations to Team NTU ODAC for coming in first (Mixed Closed)!!! You guys rock!

SAFRA SBR & AHM is confirmed!

Well, it was rumoured that the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon 2012 will not take place. The rumour turned out to be fake, the running event is going to happen on 9th September 2012!!

SAFRA members get to sign up from 18th May onwards and during the Priority Period, it will only cost $28!!!!

Isn’t that great? I mean, nowadays, running events are getting very expensive, very very expen$ive!!!! I think $28 is consider reasonable!

Qualifiers, here I come!

Alrighty, I got the invitation to the qualifiers for Sasuke Singapore!! Got to train hard for this!

RunBikeSwim Expo 2012

Surprisingly for me, I was still among the first 200 to visit the RunBikeSwim (RBS) Expo at the Singapore Expo. Therefore, I was handed a goodies bag which includes all of the above. Nothing fantastic but a goodies bag is still a goodies bag. Thanks!

I signed up myself for the U Run Premium Package. Being a non-NTUC member, my package costs me $199 which includes 3 runs, 6 months of NTUC membership, a OTO massager, a fuel pack from MAXIFUEL. I feel that is is a good deal and the 3 runs that I am looking at are adidas King of the Road, Newton Run and Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore.

I also happened to find the past season compression tops from 2XU selling at $49. The sales assistant told me that the past season tights were on sales the day before but were snapped up in a blink of an eye. Well, too bad for me.

The promotion for Vibram FiveFingers look attractive too. I feel like getting a pair of Bikila but I am not too sure if I like barefoot running shoes. Maybe I should give it a try but it is not cheap. Hmmmmm… I have one more day to consider.

Good package for runners!

Alrighty, saw this post on Runbikeswim Expo’s Facebook page and I feel that it is a good offer not to be missed. Personally, I think I will be getting the non-NTUC member package (since I am not one).

3 runs + the goodies for $199 seems pretty worth it. Anyway, the runs left on the calendar are:

  • Mizuno PAssion Wave Run (Use of credit ends 15 Aug 2012)
  • adidas King of the Road
  • Yellow Ribbon Prison Run
  • New Balance Real Run
  • Newton Run
  • Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore

I think I will go for adidas King of the Road, Newton Run and Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore.

Are you ready to be the Singapore’s Ninja Warrior?

Source: XinMSN

If you have always wanted to be a Ninja Warrior like myself, now there’s a chance to do so. Channel 5 has this new programme, Sasuke Singapore, which is basically like Ninja Warrior but Singapore-styled.

Challenge yourself and take the first step to fill in the registration forms. Wooo… 10 pages to fill in!!! That is going to be a huge step. Once you have done so, just wait for them to get back to you.

I am still waiting!

Time to get some new gears!

Alrighty, I have always wanted to get new tights, new running shoes and a new pair of swimming trunk. Maybe this Sports Expo is the answer to all my wants! But then, I don’t want to overspend. How I wish I can get a sponsor to provide all these for me and all I just need to do is to train, train and train.

Singapore National Games

Brought to us by the Singapore Sports Council and People’s Association, the Singapore National Games 2012 is the inaugural sports festival to bring everybody together.

There are dragonboating, track & field and swimming events. There is also basketball and soccer. No matter what sports you are good at or you simply want to try a new sport, this sports festival is something to look out for.

Starting from 1st Sept to 9th Sept, residents from the same community can form teams to participate and most importantly, have fun!

We are Marshall-ers!

This was not the first time I did high elements, not the first time I kayak round Ubin, not the first time I trekked in the forest, not the first time I've been to OBS. But this was the first time I completed many challenges with 12 other MARSHALL-ers!!!

That's what made this OE journey special and worthwhile. Thank you MARSHALL-ers for the experience!

21 days of adventure sound exciting to me and I think I should get down to register myself for it before the adrenaline from last week’s OBS camp wears off.
