Half-hatched Duck Eggs

The Vietnamese like this delicacy a lot. They can eat this for breakfast, for tea or just for fun.

Nope, I am not posting the picture as it might cause some to feel disgusted.

Given the chance, I think I want to try munching one down my throat.

I hope I will survive.

Drip drip drip!

Everywhere you go, you will see coffee shops in Ho Chi Minh city. Nope, I am not talking about Starbucks or Coffee Beans & Tea leaves but local brands such as Trung Hguyen and Highlands Coffee.

The most traditional way to drink Vietnamese coffee is to put the coffee powder in the drip filter and wait for the coffee to drip down. Yes, it will takes a while but I think while waiting, the best thing to do is to read a book or watch the motorcycles and people passing by.

Let it drip, let it drip, let it drip!

Then add in the sweetened condensed milk for that sugar rush!

My friend once shared with me that one simply wakes up to the sounds of the motorcycles in Ho Chi Minh city.

The large population of motorcycles in the city makes it unique and that is the first thing that pops up in people's minds.

And trying to cross a road in Ho Chi Minh city is a must-do thing for many visitors. One tip that I heard is to cross the road without stopping, simply put, just go for it!!!! The motorcyclists will zoom past behind or in front; if we stop all of a sudden, accident might just happen! Just go for it!!!!

The amazing Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower

I think the Tokyo Tower looks very elegant to me. I just can’t help but look at it whenever it is in sight.

Outside the Tokyo Imperial Palace…

This was taken earlier this year and I was really impressed by the precision of the Japanese. This group of men carefully moved down the row of cones and ensured that they are all in line. I don’t know what this is for but hey, they were really serious about it.

The era of wireless storage is here!

581415_10151851391898146_1047635079_n

I was very lucky to be invited to go on a ‘No Worries’ Road Trip with Seagate last Saturday. We started off at Newton and I was really surprised to see the Kombis parked at the parking lots.

Nope, I didn’t get to drive it but I think I can’t survive too long on the driver’s seat. Space was limited and I can’t really see what’s ahead of me unless I slouch my back.

246443_10151851324413146_113963671_n

From Newton, we made our way all the way to The Costal Settlement! It is a very nice restaurant with many retro items that I used to see a lot last time but not anymore now.

We had the good people from Seagate to share with us more on the Wireless Plus. 1TB = 1000GB now that capacity is really really…

…H U G E ~ ~ ~

What’s more, with the Wireless Plus, up to 8 devices can be connected at the same time – access to photos and videos and documents will be so much more smoother.

I guess the Wireless Plus is really good for those who are always on the go and they need to share documents with others. The Wireless Plus doesn’t require internet to work, so that is one less thing to worry about.

It is pretty light to carry around and I suppose it will be a prefect match with iPads or tablets. I mean, with the Wireless Plus, iPads and tablets will become giants with all that capacity.

Amazing HRM app!

575066_10151853164708146_1249235596_n

I was ‘shopping’ around the Google Play Store and came across this free Heart Rate Monitor App. Out of curiosity, I installed the app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and compared the reading with my MIO Alpha HRM and the results were very close!

Seriously, I wonder what is the technology for the app to work.

If you are interested, you might want to try it for yourself:

Free WIFI @ SAFRA

Ever since the telcos limited the data plan to 2GB, I am always on the lookout for WIFI so as to prevent myself from exceeding the 2GB. I am thankful that there is free WIFI at SAFRA since I am at the clubhouses most of the times. I can tap on to the free WIFI to do my work, surf the internet and watch videos.

2013… a fitter me!

20130219_091555

So the other day, I had some time before class and I headed to SAFRA Jurong for a work out session. What I like about SAFRA’s gym, EnergyOne, is that they are affordable for students like me. There are no pushy trainers trying to get me to sign up for PT packages. I don’t need the aerobic/yoga/pilates classes so I think EnergyOne is the best option for me.

20130219_092351

All the SAFRA clubhouses come with swimming pools and after a workout, a swim is the best way to cool the body down.

20130219_092437

There is a good mix of machines and free weights. Lots of space here at SAFRA Jurong and the crowd is not that bad in the day. I am not sure about the crowd in the evenings and nights since I will most probably on the other side of the island.

20130219_092445

So do consider signing up for EnergyOne’s membership if you are thinking of changing your lifestyle to a fitter one.

At SAFRA, there is something for everyone!

SAFRA is not just a place for NSF/NSmen to chill or relax. There are many programmes and activities cater for young and old. Learn to play tennis or you can even send your children to a 'Kids Survival Camp'.

Over the years, I have noticed that SAFRA has been trying to come up with new and interesting programmes and activites for members like me. And sometimes, there are badminton and table tennis competitions.

U Run 2013

20130217_184010

Collected my race pack today and I must say I am really looking forward to this race. There are two parts to this race – run 15km and climb up the One Marina Boulevard building!

6 more days to go!

At the top of SAFRA Tampines…

SAFRA TM Rooftop

… there are 2 tennis courts and 1 practice court!

IMG-20121127-WA0009

I like to ‘jio’ my friends who are staying in the area to play a game or two. And, this is one of the few places in Singapore where you can play tennis and enjoy watching air planes flying in and out of Singapore. Sometimes I feel like I am playing tennis at the airport.

The rates for booking the courts are affordable and it can be done via the SAFRA portal. For more info, you may want to c l i c k h e r e!

NS45 SAFRA Vouchers!

IMG-20130214-WA0005

Woohoo!!!! My NS45 SAFRA vouchers have arrived and I even get an extra one year of SAFRA membership!!!

Many thanks to the various authorities who put this together to reward Singaporean sons and daughters who served and are still serving the nation.

Although serving the nation should not come with a price tag and it is something that we should do as citizens, it is a nice gesture from the government.

The SAFRA Vouchers can be used at more than 5000 outlets including attractions such as the Singapore Zoo and S.E.A. Aquarium. I will use the vouchers to give my family a treat at one of the F&B outlets since they have been supporting me whenever I have to go back for ICT.

Check out the outlets where the vouchers can be used:

Hello NOTE 2!

20130127_113109

I couldn’t wait to rush home and unbox the Samsung Galaxy Note 2! I held it in my hands and it was like shouting for me to open it up.

20130127_113018

A quick look at the things that come with NOTE 2 – charger, ear piece, warranty card, etc etc.

20130127_112736

Just look at the difference between NOTE 2 and my previous phone. The size of the NOTE 2 is really impressive – with the 5.5 inches screen, watching videos, editing documents, playing games and so on and on and on… will be like a breeze….. weee!
